As a professional genealogist, I am committed to providing my clients with accurate, thoroughly-researched family trees. As a daughter, sister, wife, and mother, I believe there is an incredible depth to the value of learning family history, and for this reason, I also endeavor to bring the past to life with historical context and the narratives of our ancestors.
I believe in this work not only because it provides opportunities to venture into the past, but also because it often reveals a glimpse of how we came to be. By examining your family's past, you uncover a new understanding of self and of the people who helped you become you. |

Lisa took me on a fascinating ancestry journey. It is very clear that she worked very hard to discover the family history. What do you get for the guy who has everything?
Too often when I would ask my husband about his family history, he would answer with "I wish I knew more." Lisa tirelessly poured through mountains of research and constructed the most amazing genealogical resource that dated back generations. Her work translated to actual signatures of great great grandparents, copies of draft registration cards, wedding pictures, and photos of their original family homes, with families swaying in their rocking chairs. So much more than we could've ever found on a website. It told the story of his family's history from the time they arrived in this country, to current moments that his grandfather could recollect.
We gave this book to my father-in-law for Christmas, and that year went to visit my grandfather-in-law, where we shared the book with him. It was remarkable to see him nodding along as though we were sharing a photo album from his childhood. "Yup, that’s my grandfather." "That was their home in Pennsylvania." "They were farmers!" Every now and then he would look up as if to say, "how is this possible?" That was the last time we saw Grandpa Spath, as he passed away later that same year. Needless to say, it was the most memorable gift, and we feel so fortunate to have shared that experience with him.
